Resumen
Dear colleagues, Leipzig, with a history of more than 1000 years and one of Germany's oldest universities, has always been an open-minded metropolis, connecting tradition and transformation. The current political, societal, and scientific environment is challenging, and laboratory medicine must address these tasks. Scientific discourse is essential to find answers to today’s questions. Under the motto 'Science for Precision Medicine', the German Congress of Laboratory Medicine 2025 will take place on October 23–24, 2025, at the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL), and we warmly invite you to participate. Without diagnostics, precision medicine is not possible. Science forms the basis for precision diagnostics and translates it into clinical practice. How can we ensure innovative translational research in laboratory diagnostics, individualized diagnostics for rare diseases or unique cases, and adapt new approaches like Omics data and AI for routine diagnostics? How can molecular oncology insights be applied to non-oncological fields? What is the relevance of genetic, epigenetic, and protein modifications for improving diagnostics in both oncological and non-oncological diseases? And how do we integrate multi-dimensional data and artificial intelligence into laboratory medicine to uncover new pathophysiological insights? You will find sessions on digital analytics, hands-on microscopy courses for hematology and oncology, and practical examples from diagnostics and analytics. The DGKL and DVTA look forward to engaging in scientific discourse with you in Leipzig. This congress offers exchange, innovation, and opportunities to convey the vital role of laboratory medicine in patient care, prevention, and public health. We warmly invite you to Leipzig – the city of trade fairs, music, and books – to engage in scientific and medical exchange and enjoy the city's rich cultural offerings! With best regards, Your Congress LeadershipFecha
