WEBINAR SERIES 2025 | WFME Recognition Insights: Understanding the BME Recognition of Accreditation Programme Join us for an insightful webinar series exploring the ins and outs of the WFME BME Recognition of Accreditation Programme. Each of the four webinars will be led by experts with direct experience with the Programme and will provide a practical guide to procedures and processes in the BME Recognition of Accreditation Programme, while emphasising the respect to contextualisation. Each session will showcase speakers who are experienced medical education professionals, experts in accreditation, representatives of recognised agencies. Participants will be able to meet with Professor David Gordon, WFME Past President, who stood at the birth of the Programme, or Dr Marta van Zanten, Senior Director at FAIMER Research, who was instrumental to the development of the programme and specifically the Recognition Criteria. First-hand experience and knowledge about the programme will be shared by Professor M. Ian Bowmer, WFME Assessor and former President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. With other experienced WFME Assessors they will discuss the best practice and dos and don’ts for the accrediting authorities seen through the lens of the Recognition Programme. And last but not least the participants may look forward to meeting with representatives of three WFME-recognised agencies from different local contexts and learn about their path to the WFME Recognition Status and their best practices. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage actively by chatting with others and posing questions. Participants will also receive certificates of participation to recognise their involvement. Additionally, attendees will benefit from access to recordings of the webinars, ensuring valuable information is readily available for reference and further study.
